About the max's kansas
city project
The max's kansas city project provides emergency funding & resources
to professionals in the creative arts. Individuals who have made their
living through their art form either professionally or personally and
demonstrate a financial need for medical aid, legal aid or housing.
Criteria for Funding
The non-profit welcomes applications throughout the year to
professionals in the creative arts. There are no deadlines. Funding is
determined according to the individual's need and is disbursed in the
form of a grant not to exceed $1000. Funding will be based on a sliding
scale according to each individual's specific case. All applications are
reviewed and given consideration according to the most critical
situations and urgency. We do accept art or other items that we can
auction at one of our events or services in kind in exchange for our
assistance if that is a possibility but is not mandatory.
Grant restrictions
Grants are restricted to medical aid, legal aid and housing and will not
cover past debts. We serve as a band-aid to assist the individual
through a financially difficult period and do not provide funding to any
one individual on an ongoing basis, eg., monthly rent. We will make
every effort to provide the necessary resources for the financially
distressed individual regarding medical needs, legal assistance, and
assistance in finding housing if needed. An individual may apply for
financial assistance one time in a calendar year.
Selection process
Selection process is determined by a group of professionals from our
advisory board. Our advisory board is comprised of highly skilled
professionals in the field of health, humanities, housing law and legal
aid.
